The project aiming to renew the performance evaluation system of our retail client focused on developing a unified, digitally supported solution capable of handling the complex organizational operation of a national retail chain. The goal was to create a transparent, consistent evaluation process that supports management decision-making, which fits the methodological frameworks defined by the German headquarters, yet is implemented in a form tailored to the Hungarian organizational culture and operational characteristics.
In our advisory role, we managed the professional and methodological development of the performance evaluation process, in close cooperation with our client’s HR team and the software development partner responsible for the implementation. Through HR workshops, we elaborated the logic, steps, and decision points of the evaluation, placing special emphasis on simple, easily traceable operations and elements that create business value.
As a result of the project, a detailed methodological documentation and a testable, clickable prototype were created, which allowed for the structured collection of management feedback. Nordconn also led the testing process, and then guided the refinement and prioritization decisions based on the feedback received and emerging during live use. A prominent role was given to deciding which of the numerous development ideas create the greatest business value in the short and medium term.
With the introduction of the new system, a unified, structured performance evaluation practice became available at our client for the first time. The solution not only made evaluation transparent but also elevated the management of career plans, openness to retraining, and internal mobility to a systemic level. Automated deadlines, notifications, and reports reduced HR administration, while creating a more accountable, organized process for managers. The implementation was accompanied by management training and change management support, laying the foundation for the long-term embedding of the system.
